Monday we finish our biographies of either Mussolini, Hitler, or Stalin to the point where they take over their repsective countries. They are due, Tuesday! This week we will also begin to study how man has affected his environment in the modern techological world. What has happened at the Aral Sea and Mono Lake are our focus. Using the internet sites: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/asia-pacific/678898.stm and www.nationalgeographic.com/expeditions/activities/14/aral.html we will learn how man has altered his environment for the worse near the Aral Sea. We will then look at Mono Lake in California and see man's impact there at www.monolake.org/naturalhistory/index.html . Discussions will follow at the end of each period over what we saw and learned.
