JA 7B HISTORY: May 5th to 9th

Monday and Tuesday: We will review the Great Depression and the Dust Bowl by reading a final handout about that period with references to Steinbeck's, The Grapes of Wrath. We will view this classic film in class followed by a discussion of the characters emotions and the events depicted in the film. How historically accurate was the film?
Then we will shift to how the Depression became the stepping stone of the 3 totalitarian dictators that would rise in Europe and lead to World War II.
Wednesday: The rise of Mussolini (Italy)
Thursday: The rise of Stalin (Soviet Union)
Friday: The rise of Hitler (Germany)
