This week we will finish our study of World War II with an investigation into the Holocaust that targeted not only the Jews, but also the gypsies, communists, mentally ill and physically handicapped and others.
Monday - Wednesday: We will read handouts, view websites, and watch video segments about the victims of the Nazi Holocaust. How many did it claim? Who were the targets? Can we comprehend how this could have happened? The United States Holocause Memorial Museum will be one site we will be using, especially the "For Students" section. http://www.ushmm.org/Thursday - Friday: Introduction to the Cold War Era. What is a Cold War? How long was it? And, what events in history were part of it? We will focus on Friday on the Arms and Space Race that was part of the Cold War and the division of Europe and the "Iron Curtain."
